page 1 Predictor Corrector Methods Predictor Corrector Methods form the basis of the most successful codes (Variable Step Variable Order Methods) for the solution of initial value problems of ordinary differential equations. Briefly, these methods have been successful because they occur in naturally arising families covering a range of orders, they have reasonable stability properties, and they...
متن کاملConvergence of Rational Interpolants∗
The convergence of (diagonal) sequences of rational interpolants to an analytic function is investigated. Problems connected with their definition are shortly discussed. Results about locally uniform convergence are reviewed. Then the convergence in capacity is studied in more detail. Here, a central place is taken by a theorem about the convergence in capacity of rational interpolants to funct...
متن کاملOn Mehrotra-Type Predictor-Corrector Algorithms
In this paper we discuss the polynomiality of Mehrotra-type predictor-corrector algorithms. We consider a variant of the original prototype of the algorithm that has been widely used in several IPM based optimization packages, for which no complexity result is known to date. By an example we show that in this variant the usual Mehrotra-type adaptive choice of the parameter μ might force the alg...
متن کاملRational Interpolants with Tension Parameters
In this paper we present a NURBS version of the rational interpolating spline with tension introduced in [2], and we extend our proposal to the rectangular topology case. In particular we present some rational interpolating techniques that enable us to reconstruct shape-preserving bivariate NURBS and allow us to interactively modify the resulting surface by a set of tension parameters.
متن کاملAccurate reaction paths using a Hessian based predictor-corrector integrator.
Central to the theoretical description of a chemical reaction is the reaction pathway. The intrinsic reaction coordinate is defined as the steepest descent path in mass weighted Cartesian coordinates that connects the transition state to reactants and products. In this work, a new integrator for the steepest descent pathway is presented. This method is a Hessian based predictor-corrector algori...
